Can AI assistants read your website?

Enter your website to see whether AI crawlers are allowed and whether your homepage has the basics they read: business structured data, answers to customer questions, a sitemap, HTTPS, and a clear title and description. Free, no sign-up, no AI calls.

We check the homepage of the site you enter. Up to 10 checks per hour.

What the checker looks at

  • AI crawlers allowed in robots.txt

robots.txt tells crawlers what they may read. GPTBot and OAI-SearchBot (OpenAI), ClaudeBot (Anthropic), PerplexityBot (Perplexity) and Google-Extended (Google) are the names these companies publish for their AI crawlers and controls.

  • LocalBusiness / AutoDealer structured data

JSON-LD structured data states your name, address, phone and hours in a format software can read and match against your Google Business Profile.

  • Customer questions answered (FAQ)

AI assistants answer questions. Pages that answer your customers' common questions in plain text give them accurate details to work with.

  • Homepage title and description

The page title and meta description are the short summary of your homepage that search engines and AI tools read first.

  • XML sitemap

A sitemap lists the pages you want crawlers to find, so deeper pages (inventory, services, FAQs) aren't missed.

  • HTTPS

A secure (https://) site is the norm; browsers warn visitors about pages that aren't secure.

  • llms.txt (optional)

llms.txt is a proposed file for AI tools. Google says no special AI files are needed to appear in its AI features, so this item is optional and never counted.

How it works

We fetch your public homepage, robots.txt, sitemap.xml and llms.txt the way a crawler does (user agent “AIForgotYouBot”), follow up to 3 redirects, and read them with fixed rules — no AI model is called. These are the same website checks used in AIForgotYou reports. To apply usage limits we keep the website's hostname and a one-way hash of your IP address; we don't keep your page content.

What it doesn't tell you

These are website basics. Whether ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude or Perplexity actually name your business depends on much more — your Google Business Profile, reviews, and what other sites say about you. Passing every item here doesn't guarantee AI recommendations.
